Many illnesses are genetic. Many adoptees are trying to piece together facts from their genetic history which will lead them to medical answers. For now, I'm glad there is a legislative task force working to at least get some records released. We've explained to them that adoptee's don't request the medical records of their birth parents at all. We only request our own adoption and original birth records.
